James Ashby also known as just (Ashby) is a guitarist, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, teacher and session player.
James is a member of London based alt/rock band Romances.
For the last 12 years James has been playing lead guitar for the 1980's successful band 'T'pau' performing all over the country with tours and festivals. He has recently taken part in recording/writing their latest album 'Be Wonderful'.

James has also played guitar for many artists such as Nick Heyward (Haircut 100), Steve Norman (Spandau Ballet) and Nick Van Ede (Cutting Crew) to name a few.

In December 2024 he performed on an Arena Tour supporting The Human League and Sophie Ellis Bextor including venues such as Wembley Arena, Manchester AO Arena and Birmingham Utilita Arena.

James has been teaching Guitar and Drums for over two decades to many students in the North London and surrounding areas.
